These presentations discuss techniques for teaching equity and social justice in the ELA classroom and teacher education programs. Specifically, these presentations use the recent murders of Michael Brown and Eric Garner, as well as the subsequent protests in Ferguson, Missouri and New York City to reconsider particular assignments and pedagogical approaches
