Abstract
<div class="line" id="line-7"> A complete description of the spectrum of the matrix form of the continuous refinement operators on a subspace of compactly supported functions in L p (ℝ d ) is given. Properties of the compactly supported solutions of matrix refinement equations are derived from the spectral properties of the corresponding operators.</div>
