Abstract

This paper is a review of the recent literature on resistance to automation by professionals in mental health. The variables identified as important factors in resistance are organized into structural variables (at the individual, group, and environment levels) and process variables. Current trends in automation are also discussed regarding their potential for affecting future acceptance.
