About

Steven Schreiner, associate professor of English, teaches in the Master of Fine Arts program in poetry. He regularly offers courses at the undergraduate and graduate level, including Modern Poetry; Poetry Since World War II; Poetry Workshop; Form and Theory of Poetry; and Literary Journal Editing. He is the author of the collections, Too Soon to Leave and Belly; the chapbook, Imposing Presence; and the co-author of In Short, a Memory of the Other on a Good Day (with Allison Cundiff). His poetry has appeared in many magazines, including Poetry, Image, Colorado Review, River Styx, and December, as well as numerous anthologies. He is the recipient of fellowships from the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, Tall Rock Retreat, and the National Writers Voice of the YMCA, and is the founding editor of Natural Bridge, a journal of contemporary literature.
