About
Dr. Marius Boboc is the Dean of the College of Education at the University of Missouri–St. Louis (UMSL), a position he assumed in July 2025. He joined UMSL after a 23-year tenure at Cleveland State University, where he held numerous leadership roles, including Chair of the Department of Teacher Education and Vice Provost.
An experienced academic leader, Dr. Boboc has a strong record of securing and managing significant grants, such as a $3.4 million federal program to improve teaching in urban schools. He holds an EdD in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Northern Iowa. In his deanship, Dr. Boboc is focused on advancing UMSL’s role as an anchor institution by enhancing teacher preparation, expanding research, and building strategic community partnerships.
