Szatkowski is an analytical and computational chemist and received a PhD in physical and computational chemistry from Lodz University of Technology in Poland. He also holds an MS in computational chemistry and molecular modeling. Szatkowski has held postdoctoral appointments at Texas A&M University and the University of Arizona and has previously taught at the University of Cincinnati and the University of South Carolina-Sumter.
