About

Lori Curtis, MSW, LCSW, is an Teaching Professor and has been with the School of Social Work at UMSL since 1999. She is also an affiliated faculty member with the Gender Studies program on campus. She received her BA in Psychology from the State University of New York - College at Geneseo, and her MSW from the George Warren Brown School of Social Work at Washington University, where she individualized her concentration to focus on women's issues.

In addition to teaching on campus, she also coordinates the outreach program for the School of Social Work, with BSW and MSW completion programs currently being offered at Mineral Area College in Park Hills, Missouri. Lori is also the BSW Advising Coordinator, providing academic advising for many of the BSW and pre-social work students. She is also very active in UMSL's Safe Zone program. Lori’s teaching and professional interests can be summarized as: Diversity and Social Justice, Violence Against Women, LGBT Issues, Feminist Social Work, and Crisis Intervention.
