Kate Votaw

Kate Votaw is an Associate Teaching Professor and the UMSL campus Undergraduate Research Coordinator. She returned to UMSL’s campus after receiving her B.A. in Psychological Sciences from UMSL in 2009 and her M.S. and Ph.D. for Social Psychology from Saint Louis University in 2016. Her primary position on campus is to teach undergraduates in the liberal arts tradition in the UMSL Pierre Laclede Honors College. She teaches a variety of classes ranging from a seminar version of General Psychology, to Psychology in Pop Culture (also known as “Taylor Swift Class”), and The Science of Psychology, helping all majors understand and apply the nuances of social sciences research methodology. She is also a faculty advisor to Honors students with majors of psychology, anthropology, music and music education, and undeclared majors.
