About

Gerald Yong Gao is a Professor of Marketing at the College of Business Administration, University of Missouri-St. Louis. He received his B.A. in economics from Peking University and a Ph.D. degree in marketing from the University of Hong Kong. His research interests include marketing and innovation strategies, export, FDI performance, and strategic orientations, with a particular emphasis on emerging markets. His papers have been published in scholarly journals such as the Administrative Science Quarterly, the Journal of International Business Studies, the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, the Journal of Operations Management, the International Journal of Research in Marketing, the Journal of International Marketing, the Management International Review, the Journal of World Business, and International Marketing Review, among others.

He has won several research and teaching awards including Anheuser-Bush Award for Excellence in Teaching and the Douglas E. Durand Award for Research Excellence, and best paper awards at conferences. He currently serves on the editorial board of the Journal of International Marketing and the Asia Pacific Journal of Management.
