About

Colleen (McClain) Mpofu is an accounting professional with over 15 years of experience leading accounting processes in Fortune 500 manufacturing companies. She is currently a Lead Cost Accountant for Ingredion, Inc. and an Adjunct Accounting Instructor at Ivy Tech Community College. She also runs her own small business providing income tax preparation, bookkeeping, and small business set-up solutions to individuals and emerging small businesses. Colleen holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Indiana Wesleyan University and Bachelor of Science in Business Accounting and Finance from Indiana University. She is currently a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) candidate and working towards her Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) degree at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Her current research interests include accounting automation, behavioral accounting, leadership, organizational change, and knowledge management.
Colleen has a passion for empowering women and youth and currently serves as the Treasurer on the board of directors for R.E.D Alliance, an organization fighting against breast cancer disparities in Indiana. She serves the community as an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated and her local church. In the past, she co-founded an organization that assisted youth in the rural areas of African countries, served as the Treasurer on the board of directors for the Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA), and has also served through other well-known community organizations that share her passion for the empowerment of women and youth.
