About

Dr. Steffen's research, teaching, and clinical interests are in geropsychology and behavioral medicine. Her research lab aims to advance understanding and interventions to promote mental and physical health in older adults and involved family-care partners. She coordinates the Psychology Advising Office and psychology tutoring in STAC, along with teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in gerontology and doctoral courses in clinical psychology. Dr. Steffen is dual-board certified in geropsychology and in behavioral cognitive psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology. She provides clinical supervision and has a small psychotherapy and family consultation practice at the Community Psychological Service.
